This policy explains what personal information e-scholarId keeps, why, and your rights. We follow the Personal Data Protection Act of Tanzania.
Who is responsible
Each company that uses e-scholarId decides what information it records about its customers and staff, and is responsible for it. We process that information on the company's behalf, only to provide the service.
What we collect
- Account details: name, username, work e-mail, phone, job title and department of each user.
- Business records your company enters: customers, contacts, deals, invoices, tasks, documents and similar.
- Technical information: login times, the address you connect from, and error logs, used to keep the service secure.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account's name and e-mail address only.
How we use it
- To run the service for your company and let your team work together.
- To send messages you need, such as password resets, task notifications and billing notices.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your company's data for advertising.
Who can see it
- Only users of your own company, according to the access your administrator gives them.
- Our technical staff, only when needed to run, support or repair the service.
- Service providers we use to operate it (such as hosting and e-mail delivery), bound to protect it.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
As long as your company's account is active. After an account is closed its data may be permanently deleted.
Security
Passwords are never stored as plain text (only a secure hash), each company's data is kept separate, and access inside a company follows roles set by its administrator.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information. If your information was entered by a company using e-scholarId, contact that company first; we will help them respond.
Changes
We will update the date on this page when this policy changes.
